About Lisa

In 2010, Lisa Mortell discovered her passion for quilting through a Kaffe Fassett book, and by the time she completed her first quilt, she was completely hooked. Over the past fourteen years, her quilting journey has evolved significantly, with a deepening love for hand applique and embroidery taking center stage. Lisa began teaching quilting techniques about six years ago, including wool applique, needle-turn applique, paper piecing, and general quilting. In addition to teaching, she offers engaging trunk shows and is excited to launch her own wool applique patterns this fall. Her recent works draw inspiration from the natural beauty of her Pacific Northwest roots, particularly the greater Seattle area. Notably, in November of 2024, Lisa’s "Garden Friends" quilt was displayed at the prestigious Houston International Quilt Festival.
